On the 10th June, we said I do.
We tied the knot in not the most “traditional of ways”. We exchanged vows and rings on the beach in a short and romantic afternoon ceremony. The day proceeded with a dinner reception, games, more food, lots of dancing, fireworks and a drink or two (or five!)
The day itself exuded a positive atmosphere, joy and heaps of love. I can honestly say I lived the happiest day of my life. I was surrounded by the most amazing people, our most precious friends and family members and a great team which participated in making one of the most important days in our lives special and memorable.
We have already become targets for the obvious jokes and snide remarks people tend to make: ‘now that you’re married it’s over’ ‘now you’ve got the ball and chain’ so on and so on. Contrary to what people may think or how they assume I should feel now that I’m a wife, I have never felt so content and tranquil in my life. I feel an amazing aura and sense of serenity. Have I become a hippy too? Nonetheless, call it what you want, but it is truly a magical and exciting time. I am excited for new beginnings, the unknown, new adventures and spending the rest of our lives together.
The day was tailored to our taste, every little detail had thought or a story behind it and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome. With that being said, I would be a massive liar if I told you everything was perfect and ran smoothly. Let me tell you, IT DIDN’T.
I don’t want to overwhelm you with the ins and outs, all the pre-drama and ‘scary stuff’ therefore I will post blogs touching on the individual details, the traditions we stuck with and didn’t stick with and all our personal touches. Stay tuned for lots more 🙂
